"To Be A Batcat" is a book describes what life was like for the men and women who traveled to Thailand as a member for the USAF to make a new type of operation in Electronic Reconnaissance as part of Batcat. This book describes what life was like during the Vietnam era while serving in Southeast Asia. Mike Jones was a CIM and was part of the first wave of USAF military to go to Korat.

"Coastal Treasure" is a book of fiction about the Forrest family of four; mother, father, and two sons. One son, Will, enlists in the Air Force and is killed with the loss of Batcat 21 on April 25, 1969. The primary characters in the book are Will's brother Jake, and his friend Rory and their adventures. Jake and Rory, who live in Florida, build a raft which they travel the Florida waterways where they encounter an old man, Amos, and they become friends. Taking place in the early 1970's summers, an era punctuated by the ongoing turmoil of the Vietnam War and the effects of civil rights legislation. This book demonstrates the family concerns when a family member makes the decision to enlist in the military to serve their country, and the difficulties and emotions encountered by the family when that family member is killed in the service to their country.
